Full hysterectomy on July 31st and terrified

Vrls- I am keeping a close eye on you! You were just a couple days ahead of me, so maybe a pooie for me in a day or two!!!

I have been fighting off a bladder infection here, from the catheter
I would imagine.

What a great place to be to do that! measuring the amount of urine each time, taking IV antibiotics, and pain meds.... Cranberryt juice on demand!

I almost hate to go home, but I have such a nice recovery room all set up, I am looking forward to using it too!

I say, Ladies in waiting, enjoy your stay at the Castle! It is just awesome!

my doc started me on a stool softener about 6 hours after surgery. i continued them at home, twice a day, til i "moved". i had surgery on a wednesday and a relatively easy bm on saturday...been regular ever since, but of course, i only took one vicadin after i got home....can't stand those things!! as far as celebrating a bm??? i don't think i've shared this much about my bodily functions ever!!!! makes me laugh, which feels good! hugs to all! debbie

Let's see.... I had the hyst on Tues, and finally had a BM on Sat. Today (Sun.) I have been making up for lost time in that dept.

On another subject, I got a CombiPatch and it left a bright pink/red polka dot on my belly. Anyone read, "Put Me In A Zoo" by Dr. Seuss? I can just picture myself with these dots all over my abdomen, since I change spots twice a week!!

Scardeycat~ Don't throw in the towel yet!!! I was the same way. At first felt great and then a week later felt horible. I thought I was NEVER going to get better and had made a huge mistake. However, about weeks 4- 5 (yes, it took me longer than most) it was almost magical. . . I started feeling better. Still @ week 7 post -op, I feel great most of the time, but still have swelly belly days and occasional twitches. Looking bad, I wish I had taken the time to enjoy my healing and had not been so worried that I was behind in healing. IT IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF!!!!!

Hope you all have a great week and take care of yourselves!

I was so happy when I had my first BM yesterday (Saturday, Aug 4th), that I came into the livingroom afterwards, threw my arms in the air, sang a modified "bean song", smiled, and said "Tah Dah"! Everyone knew what I was talking about. What a relief! (we're silly around my house). :-D

trying to think about that question?

RedHotPrissPot...all I know is..lol..I sure wish I had done something different so it wouldn't have been such a bad time...maybe taking some milk of mag..or something..also..I started right in to the hot sweats..then I remembered a nurse telling me if she drinks 8 ounces of water before bed, hers are either non-exsisting..or much lighter..so I did that the second night ..and it was Very mild compared to the first night. oh and when you take your bowl prep..put it in 4 ounces of cold flat sprite..drink it down with nose plugged..drink another drink of sprite then stick a lemon drop in your mouth real quick..and of course drink some water next..thats what I did per someone elses idea..and it worked for me !! 's to all !! Good luck to all going through this soon..and those on the other side !!
God Bless !!
