Just asking for some info!

I am going to be having a hysterectomy in the near future and had some concerns. One of which is in regards to sex. A friend of mine said she heard that some women lose the ability to get cervical fluid (wet, ok there I said it) when they are aroused after they have a hysterectomy. I was unsure if this only applied to those having a total hysterectomy or to those just getting their uterus removed. I don't mean to sound uneduacted, but I am in the learning process still. Also, since I will still have my ovaries, will I still ovulate? Aaahhh.

Well, I'm fixing to be 5 weeks out after having a total hysterectomy and not meaning to give TMI but.....I can't have sex as of yet but have been aroused and been wet. Gosh, I'm embarrassed but just thought I'd answer that for you...lol

Re: Just asking for some info!

I asked my doctor this question because I also was worried about it. She said while some of the "moisture" comes from your cervix, the vagina also produces "moisture".

Re: Just asking for some info!

Well I am 18 days post op TAH with ovaries left. So I had cervix and uterus removed with regards to sex leaflets I have been given say you may need lube but every one is different as for ovulation my gyne says you do make egg but they get reabsorbed back into the body not even sure they travel down the tubes by they soon die and do nothing. Hope this helps

Re: Just asking for some info!

I am 3 month post op and left ovaries. I have found that sex is pretty much the same for me as it was before. I am not having to use lubricates. I guess it can be different for everyone.

I'm six weeks out from a TVH and I'm wet all the time. My libido is in overdrive as a matter of fact!
