Re: Best Wishes to our March 05 Princesses
I am sending you and best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery as you head off to the hospital.
I will be joining you in the Post-Op Forum in the Recovery Progress Thread for members having surgery March 1-7, 2021. I will be there to offer support and encouragement on your recovery journey. Look for it at the top of the Post-Op Forum after your surgery.
A few things I found very useful for my initial recovery:- Stool softener
- Prunes (or your go-to food to get your bowels moving)
- Gas X
- Peppermint tea
- Ginger Ale (to drink flat)
- Moist wipes rather than toilet tissue
- Panty liners
- Heating pad
- Small pillow (to hold against tummy when coughing or sneezing, also protects against “pounces” from small animals!)
- Body pillow (helps with side-sleeping)
- Grabber tool for dropped items
- Chapstick
- Notepad and pen (for keeping track of medications)
- Nutritious snack items (yogurt, bananas, granola bars, etc.)
Here are a couple of links you may find helpful:

If you haven't already done so, please take a moment to complete your Member Survey. Knowing what type of hysterectomy you've had and whether you kept your ovaries helps us offer you the best support!
Deep breaths, you can do this! The nerves can be really overwhelming. Try to keep busy, clean the house, cook and freeze meals, and get outside and enjoy your family. Take quiet time for yourself, enjoy a bath and stock up on movies and books for your recovery.
Remember rule #1 is to "Pamper the Princess"!
