Pre-surgery fears

I am brand new but i am scheduled 12/4 to have a total laprascopic hysterectomy. My biggest concern is that i will be coming home same day of surgery. I am concerned about pain/bleeding. I know everything should be ok but worried about pain and being home so quick.. Anyone have some positive insight to share with me. Thankx!!

Re: Falling apart

I agree that on top of everything waiting seems to be the straw that can break the camels back. Most dont understand the worry. Allow yourself to feel terrible and worried but know that it is totally normal to feel all of it. We are here for you every step of the way for each other!! I think coming home so early after surgery is a concern. If you dont have anyone available to help you, maybe come out and tell your dr, they may keep you a little longer? Cant hurt to ask...

Lets keep each other together...

Re: Falling apart

Oh wow no I can tell you from personal experience TVH on Oct 21st that it is not pain beyond belief I have not had to take anything stronger than a advil since I have gotton home. I used a lot of ice packs too. Please do not stress you will have to take it really easy and you are going to be so tired you can barely keep your eyes open for a little while but the pain is totally manageable.

Re: Falling apart

adelaiden,

Are you having surgery this Thursday? The waiting is MOST DEFINATELY the hardest part of this whole thing!!!! Once it is over you will wonder why you fretted so much about it, but I guess it is the way we women work, huh? Good luck, and God bless.

Re: Falling apart

adelaidean,

I was scheduled last Nov, and cancelled. I decided to seek a second opinion in August, I got the same advice. I really loved the new doctor, also liked the fact that she would perform my surgery using the daVinci robot. It is such a hard decision to be comfortable with. It sounds like you have done your homework during these past 3 years.

yes I have. I have found a new doctor who I do totally trust, and she is female...She really seems to understand and care...
