Kidney stones...

well after my endometrial biopsy and bladder study I got a uti and complained about the pain. So every time I had pain I assumed uti and took 2 rounds of cipro. Pain again came with period bleeding although a week early and lasted one day. The pain had gotten really bad and today I had a ct scan where 2 kidney stones were found. So I want to say seriously! Kidney stones on top of everything else. I hope I pass them or they get removed before my surgery jan 7. I can't imagine passing a stone or two during recovery. No fair.

I have struggled with Kidney Stones for over 16 years, my body loves to make them. My kidney's are still full of stones and there really isn't much that can be done for me. The majority of the stones I have are small enough to pass on their own, and YES that is one of the most painful things anyone can go through.

How funny I saw this post because earlier this week I thought I had a UTI, had all the symptoms. Was put on antibiotics and nothing changed. Urine culture was positive for blood but negative for bacteria. Sure enough a couple days later the littler bugger came out.

My best advice to you is drink lots of water, it will help keep those kidney's hydrated and keep the formation of stones down.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

Re: Kidney stones...

Thank you ladies for letting me vent and understanding how this feels. My last experience with kidney stones was 7 yrs ago and it was the size of a buckle and had to be surgically removed. This one passed. Pain is gone now. Just achy all over now. The cat scan showed multiple stones 5mm. I'm just hoping the rest stay put for awhile.

Hi just reading through the posts in this thread and wondered if anyone had or had a kidney cyst?

I'm going next week for a 6 month follow up ultra sound to double check it . I feel nervous

yes, I also have a cyst within my left kidney. I get yearly ultrasounds to monitor everything and the size. So far that little bugger has been there for years and I have had no issues with it. If they didn't tell me I had it I would never know it was there.

Good luck with your follow up next week.

Re: Kidney stones...

Hi Leanne... Had my US for my kidney this morning... Still they can't classify it...This is the problem with the health care sometimes.. If they just sent me for the MRI I would not have waisted time getting the follow up US.

They can see it -- it is round -- but they can't see if it is fluid filled or solid.. (Great) So the tech said they will probaby send me for MRI to be sure. She said it hadn't changed in size which was good. but really nerve wracking as I am such a what if'r
