Being overweight and having the surgery.
I am an overweight sister and I had no infection, etc. In fact, I healed alot faster than my best friend who is slim and had a hysterectomy a year before I did.
My best piece of advice: get a cane (nice ones at Walgreens less than $20) to help pull yourself up and to steady yourself when starting to walk. This helped me soooooo much. Also, get your tummy pillow ready. Use it also in the car between your tummy and the seat belt. Target has wonderful small pillows.
God bless.

Being overweight and having the surgery.
Now that my staples are out I can sleep on either side. It does help to put something under your belly when you are on your side to support it like a rolled towel or small pillow.
I am wearing light support panty girdles and they help when I am up and around.
I am suffering from backaches in addition to the surgery pain from lying in the bed more than usual.
Now I try to sit up in the recliner more so than lying down and that helps my back to hurt less.

Being overweight and having the surgery.
Hi! I had TAH/BSO on June 2nd. I am also very "fluffy". I was worried before my surgery just as you are. But let me tell you, I worried for nothing. My incision is closed and has healed nicely. The only thing I found that I needed as a "fluffy" woman, was something to rest my belly on if I wanted to lay on my side when in bed. Other than that, all went well! Good luck!
