Frustrated with adenomyosis

So tired and frustrated. My insurance is rejecting claims that led to the adenomyosis diagnosis. Now worried they will reject the hysterectomy pre approval claim for December. I am so tired (greatly anemic), and feel really lousy almost every day now (pain most of the month, severe bleeding). This has been going on for 5 years now, and enough is enough. I just need some relief already. I don't really want to undergo major surgery, but I can't keep living like this either! Sorry to vent. Just feeling so alone and overwhelmed. Worried surgery won't help or will end up with some other complication that will be worse to deal with. uuggghh

Re: Frustrated with adenomyosis

(((((Hugs)))))) I'm sorry that you have been living with such pain and fatigue for so long!! I hope that your surgeon is able to give the proper diagnosis to satisfy the insurance company. I'm just thinking out loud here but from what I understand adeno can only be diagnosed once the uterus has been removed and sent to pathology. I also have suspected adeno (some confirmed small fibroids and endo), but the official reason for my hyster is dysmenorrhea, which literally means "bad menstruation". I hope you are able to get things resolved soon!!

Re: Frustrated with adenomyosis

I hope so too. I watched her enter my diagnosis'. Adenomyosis, mennaghorhia and dysmenorrhea..so if that doesn't cover it, not sure what else they can do. I understand that technically they can't diagnose adeno until after pathology, but all tests and history and a very enlarged uterus all are pointing to that route. We shall see. Just need to feel better some day (preferably sooner than later!)

Re: Frustrated with adenomyosis

Adenomyosis is what my doctor said my problem was and that having a TAH/BSO was the correct and only procedure that could have been done to correct the issue and the having bleeding, clots, major pain and fatigue. I would definately get your doctor on the phone with your insurance company. How or why they would deny your procedure is beyond me. I am so glad I had mine done. I am post op 4 weeks tomorrow. Went back to work 6 days after surgery (against doctors orders) but I learned to listen to my body. I still get tired by the time I get home from work. Financially I could not afford to take off work for the 4-6 weeks plus, I can't just lay around no matter the circumstances.....was going stir crazy. Prayers are with you and that you get this covered by your insurance and on your way to feeling normal again.

Re: Frustrated with adenomyosis

Thanks Ladies!

Kathy, Finances are a huge worry for me as well. Hoping I do as well as you. I also can't take off for 4 to 6 weeks. Planning on going back after 2 weeks. Just hope my body agrees. Hoping its all better than what I am dealing with now. I had to laugh when my doctor asked if I missed work because of what is going on. I said, "Um, no. I'm a single mom. I need my job!"
