Maybe it's just me...but does anyone feel like they have depression days due to the upcoming surgery. Yesterday was a good, Honestly I could cry at the drop of a hat. I am struggling with several feelings...1. the feeling of 'less that a women", 2. what if my husband or I can tell the difference sexually, 3. and 'this is so,'.

Please tell me someone else feels like me...i dont think i could stand to feel alone too =( *sigh*

my surgery isn't even till Dec i still have 3 weeks of feeling like this....I hope not =(

Re: Depression

I definitely had a rough month before the surgery. Even comments here would really get me down. I had someone say that whether you had any worthwhile life after the surgery was all a "crapshoot", which I consider an outright lie. About 10 days before the surgery I was finally able to cut through all feelings and say, I am relatively young and healthy, the surgery is very likely going to make my life hugely better and much of my life is what I make of it, my worth as a person is not based on my uterus and my relationship with my husband is not based on sex. This is what I need to do to be healthy.
I was still scared of the actual surgery but I didn't have complications and my husband still loves me and I am healing right on schedule as do most people.
So yes, your feelings are normal but feelings don't always reflect reality so keep them in perspective. It helped me to have a positive plan for all the fun stuff I was going to do during my recovery, like reading and facebook games while sitting in my room with scented candles and my favorite foods.
