D&C Annoyed

I am still cramping and bleeding (not spotting) 3 weeks after my D&C. Is this normal and is it going to ever stop? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy in January and I would love to have a break from it before my surgery. Thanks, Gin

Re: D&C Annoyed

I also had a D & C 3 weeks before my hysterectomy and never stopped bleeding. I had a period that lasted for almost 2 months which is the reason my Dr. did the D & C. I was also on megestrol which didn't stop it either. Now after my hysterectomy I can say there is no more bleeding and I feel great! I hope yours stops or at least slows down by the time you have your surgery. Good luck!!!

Re: D&C Annoyed

Wow, I would check with your doctor.

I had a D&C in late May and had no cramping and no spotting or bleeding at all. I had no pain after my D&C at all.

My D&C actually pretty much stopped my bleeding because my gynecologist removed a big uterine polyp.

Good luck!

Re: D&C Annoyed

I had the D&C for dysfunctional bleeding and well............I guess I still have dysfunctional bleeding. :-) No doubt the decision to go ahead with a hysterectomy in January is the correct one. Thanks you for the input everyone.

Re: D&C Annoyed

So sorry you're going through this! I had numerous D&C's done in the past and none of them ever completely stopped my bleeding either. Sometimes it would make it slow down, other times it was like I hadn't had anything done at all. Hang in there.. praying you get some relief before your hysterectomy.
