wondering about the cath

my Dr assured me that I would not be leaving with a cath. When I asked about it he said no I should not have any problems and that most women have bladder issues with the medications but when they wear off I will be fine. I have had surgery many times for endo and can't even remember ever waking up with a cath although I know one was used during the surgery. Should I be worried about this?

wondering about the cath

My main worry was the cath also....but it is inserted while youre out, and what I thought was going to be really painful, wasn't bad at all when they took it out. I felt them deflating the "balloon" filled with saline, then there was very slight discomfort when it was removed. She told me to count to 10, when I got to 3 it was the worse pain (which wasn't much) and then it was done......Really don't worry about it, I thought the IV being put in was alot more painful than the cath.

wondering about the cath

The catheter is no big deal. Doesn't hurt when it comes out. I had to have one put back in the 2nd day after surgery due to bladder spasms, but the little bit of pain that caused was nothing compared to the pain I was in from the bladder spasms. Had to come home with the catheter and took it out myself. Didn't hurt at all. Everything is back to normal now!! Good luck

As long as you remember to stay relaxed, it's a cakewalk to have the cath removed
