Mad at the nurse!!!

I have used the same doctor for 5 years...through two babies.
In june I started having HORRIBLE PAIN!!! I called and spoke with my nurse...Please I need pain meds. I hurt sooo bad!
Please the pain is so bad I am throwing up! and every time she would say...there is nothing wrong with you, you just have a painful period...some women are just blessed with painful periods...blah blah blah.
Every month until recently I called crying, in pain, same thing every time...take tylenol, take motrin, nothing is wrong with you!

I finally had to go to a new doctor...you know the first thing he said was, lets take care of the pain...scheduled me for an ultrasound where we found cysts...did a lapyro and found Endo.
Just really took care of me.

If only that crazy bat would have cared a little more...
oooohhhh! I am just so mad at her now!
I know this couldnt have been prevented, but she should have been a better nurse shouldnt she? I mean I was in pain!
Am I in the right, or am I just angry for nothing?

I will have a full abdominal hysterectomy March 2.

Mad at the nurse!!!

Once I had to leave a doctor I liked because I could not deal with his staff. I wrote him a letter to tell him exactly why I felt I had to change doctors. Of course, I do not know if it had any impact because I followed through with the change.

If it makes you feel any better, I'd try to communicate your concern with your previous doctor just so he knows.

Mad at the nurse!!!

I had sort of the same experience with my now doctor. I had been to him and had tests and stuff done. He had put me on birth control pills to try and help things and they did nothing. I called and talked to his nurse and she said basically the same thing as your nurse said. Finally, I just called and made another appointment with the doctor and that's when he decided to do the hyst. She has been sweet as pie to me ever since.

I agree. I would put into writing excatly what happened with his nurse. Sometimes DR have know idea how their office is being represented out front. I would follow up with a phone call in case the old bat reads the mail. No doc wants to lose patients because of their staff.

I hope you find peace from pain with your new DR.

Mad at the nurse!!!

I'm currently having this problem with my PCP's staff.... When I had to go fo my pre-op with my gyn, I needed a referal. I called them with plenty of time (they require 5 bussiness days notice for referals), then on the Friday before the appt., at 3:00 PM, thay called and said,"We need to know what this referal is for." I told them what was going on and the woman told me that it wasn't in my file, so they couldn't refer me.... OF COURSE IT'S NOT IN MY FILE!!!! MY GYN ISN'T IN YOUR OFFICE!!!!! She then tells me that I have to get ahold of my gyn... it's now 3:30 (we argued a lot...hehehe)and have him PERSONALLY call them, tell them what's going on, fax them a copy of his LICENSE.... I hung up on her!

I called the gyn's office, he was gone for the weekend, but the nurse asked what I needed. I told her what was going on, she told me to go to bed, she'd take care of it!!! I went to my PCP office Monday morning to pick up my referal, and everyone was nice as could be... even the Nurse who called me on Friday. When I got to my gyn's office I handed them the referal and my nurse looks up at me, bats her eyelashes and says,"They already faxed us referals for you to cover 2 visits a month for the next year...." "They won't do that to one of OUR girls again!"

Gotta' love a good staff!!!
