Return to work-What is lt like for you?

I am not quite 3 weeks post-op and when I went in for a meeting at 1 week post-op I was exhausted. I went back to my full-time desk job at 2 weeks post-op and have done fine.

I have, a couple of times, started at a mini-run (such as this morning when the wind chill was like 2 degrees!) and then I have some pain in the vagina. Slightly more swollen feeling by the end of the day. Otherwise okay.

I can't say that I have pain, but I am more tired. I haven't been working full days yet, so that may be part of it. I am going to start full days next week. I also sit at my desk for the most part of the day. I do get up several times to walk to the main printer/copier/scanner, so that may help take some of the pressure off of my abdominal area.

Return to work-What is lt like for you?

I went back "full time" last week to my desk job. I worked 6-7 hours a day, because I have an awesome boss/friend that tells me to go home when he knows I've had enough.

I've had more pain this week, but it's not terrible. Mostly around my bladder and that region. My problem is that when I get tired my brain leaves and my job is 75% decision making. By Friday I was doing better. I think a lot of it is just adjusting to working again after more than a month off.

Return to work-What is lt like for you?

i returned to work this week and it was rough. I am a special ed teacher working with middle school students with moderate to severe autism and multiple disabilities, and my job is quite physical. it was a pretty challenging week for one student in particular, and by wednesday i was in tears most of the day--part pain, part hormones. she was absent thursday and i was able to spend most of the day sitting and using an ice pack on and off. i think it's going to take awhile to be back at work and not have pain.

Return to work-What is lt like for you?

I went back to work today, should have been 12 hour shift, but went home after 10. My colleagues were wonderful, doing all the physical things so I walked a lot and sat and did work at desk. I am wondering if anyone is still having pain??? I am 7 1/2 weeks post op and am still having soreness mostly on right side. Girls at work seem to think it is too long and I shouldn't be having pain. (One even said they must have left sponges in me) Now I am really concerned. I am taking Motrin, that is what Doc said to take at 7 week eval. He didn't seem to think it was anything to be concerned about, but he isn't feeling it!! He did internal and said everything looked OK. Maybe because I had TAH (all removed, ovaries, tubes, and uterus) The large tumor had ruptured and they did a lot of cleaning and suctioning, I guess. I was under for 4 hours. Maybe just need more time. I don't know. I wasn't too worried until I talked to girls at work today. Anyone still experiencing pain at 7-8 weeks post op?
Sure would appreciate any replys and/or info. Thank you.

Return to work-What is lt like for you?

Once again, glad someone brought up a topic that's been on my mind. I'm GLAD to know that other people are still having pain because I was beginning to wonder if I was just being a weenie-baby.

Like others have said, the fatigue hasn't been so bad recently, but I've definately been dealing w/the pain..even when at home and resting. Keep those ibuprofen comin'!

I've been back at work for a little over two weeks....the 1st Thurs. & Fri., I did fine....teacher inservice days so low-stress. The next Monday, mostly OK. Went home early 3 days early that week. This past week, I went home early Monday, stayed home all day Tues. & Wed., and went all day Thurs. & Fri. Thurs. I was only a little tired at the end of the day. Friday, I was pretty sore & am still sore today.

Thankfully, my principal is MORE than understanding and keeps telling me to take it easy.
