Home from the Castle

Well ladies, should I say it was a piece of cake. Have to agree with the others all my fears were unfounded and after leaving recovery room which I was in for 5 hours, 3 hours normal 2 waiting for my room, I was wanting to clean myself up and called my friends at work, they were amazed it was me on the phone telling them I was doing great. Had the morphine pump thing used it 18 times and took darvocet 2 times the second day, no pain meds since just my trusty tylenol (otc) extra strength. walked at midnight the first night, again at 4 am, had visitors that said they could not believe how well I looked and that they would not believe I just had major surgery. I feel great. Get tired quickly and I lay down when I do. Have taken a shower at the castle by myself and at home today by myself. Actually came home yesterday but was exhausted, had only slept 3 hours after I woke up from recovery, spent most of the time talking to the nurses and walking the room as much as I could. All you it definitely is not as bad as the waiting, sure there is uncomfortability and some pain but nothing like it was. The is the worst I have Gas-X which helps a lot and am taking correctol which really helped with the first BM today. I will write my story in the other and all you can read it. It was totally a great experience, the nurses and aides were all terrific to me because I was up all the time I was there they would come in more to talk to me and spend time in my room with me which was very nice. The only thing they could not figure out is why I was not zonked, I have a reverse chemical reaction to certain drugs what usually knocks other people out acts like speed to me, go figure. Anyway want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement, I do not believe I would have been as prepared or be doing as well if I had not had that from all my sisters here. Good luck to you all still waiting and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope it goes as well for you as it did for me.
