I have two dogs who know I'm not feeling well and keep tabs on me. My mom has been great through this whole thing. I am glad to be recovering but wish the yeast infection would disappear-in the next few minutes would be great!!. It makes it so much easier reading all of your posts and realizing that what I am going through is normal. I don't know about you guys but my doctor was real vague about the after part except for one day in hospital. Other than that, not much.
Oh you poor baby. I don't know how you can stand it.

My MD didn't tell me about the amount of pain I'd be in, and the DaVinci website isn't going to tell you either. Although I have to admit, most of my pain is from having my intestines messed with than anything else. The incisions have been virtually painless except for the upper left one that must be the one most of the instruments went through. I would still opt for a DaVinci procedure if I had to make the decision again.

I had my lap surgery on the 8th. It went well! Dr said my uterus was grossly enlarged with lots of fibroids. I was able to keep my right ovary. And as suspected he found so endometriosis.

I've been doing ok. Actually I've been feeling pretty sore the last few days. I have most of my discomfort at night & I've been struggling with insomnia.

Thanks for all your support ladies!

My surgery was on the 8th & I'm still taking my pain medication. Especially at night I swear my whole belly aches & moves around inside. My doctor said it's normal to feel like things are moving around since now that my huge uterus is out of the way my intestines can move!

I have been practicing relaxation but I admit it's difficult because all bathroom matters seem to require urgency these days! After reading some posts here I am considering contacting my doc about medication for the bladder spasms. I feel like I am a pharmacy lately with all the pain pills, HRT and heart burn meds.

Have you added any vitamins to your regimen? I was reading about vitamin deficiency with HRT. I started Estradiol about 6 days post op after suffering through hot flashes and emotional upheaval that started day one. The relief was immediate!

What an experience this has been. I don't think I fully grasped the severity of the surgery until post op!

Yes! Nights are difficult aren't they? I've been reading at night, helps to focus on something other than the pain. It does seem like things are free floating or moving around in there. Strange!

I actually made it down the three flights of stairs yesterday for a little walk to the corner store. It feels weird walking on solid pavement like everything inside is jiggling around (maybe I should have done the tummy tuck as well), but it's much better than sitting on my keista or laying on my back all day.

The little exercise it gave me felt great but it did wear me out some.

I will be removing the surgi strips later. Hopefully I won't tear the incision open (about a 6" incision across my lower abdomen where I had my c-section 23 years ago).

All in all, feeling stronger every day and find myself taking less and less pain meds every day.

I hope everyone is doing just as well.

Dor

My doc told me to leave the strips alone. He said they will fall off themselves. So far two have come off and a few others have needed to be trimmed. I would be scared to death to pull them, they do seem to be holding things together. Glad to hear your feeling stronger.

Yes difficult & weird with the movement! Glad we have somewhere to share our experiences. I haven't had any issues with my bladder, although dr said it may happen from all the poking around they did in there.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Sep 07-Sep 13,2009

I had a TAH & bilateral salpingoopherectomy (BSO) on Sept. 9th and returned home on Sept. 12th.

I have a wonderful support network, although my husband is doing the lion's share (& doing it very well)! I am finding the level of inactivity I have to endure for a full recovery very frustrating! (Sooooo BORING)

Exactly 1 week after my op., and feeling suprisingly well, I spent most of the day on my feet..............BIG mistake! That night, and for 2 days afterwards, I was completely wiped out and very, very sore.

Am beginning to sleep better and ache slightly less when getting out of bed! I haven't taken any painkillers since last night and although I feel 'uncomfortable', I'm not in great pain. My movements are still quite slow, but are becoming easier.

(((ladies)))

As a further reminder ~ if you have any questions or concerns about your recovery, then please start a new thread so that all our post-op members can see it and have the opportunity to respond, instead hiding your concerns and limiting any possible response to just the tiny number who choose to post here. Those who have been through the recovery process, and have a wealth of experience to share, cannot reply on this thread to answer your questions. With over 175,000 members, a new thread of your own is the best way to get support and replies ~ and how the site works. Without those threads, we wouldn’t have a Post-Op Support Forum!

To start a new thread, just click on the “New Topic” button which is located at the top and bottom left of the main forum page, or by clicking HERE. It's very important that we keep all questions in thread titles, which guide our visitors and members to the information they are seeking. Just imagine if ((you)) had to search through the millions of posts for hidden questions and their replies ...

Please note this thread is intended for personal, once or twice daily, progress reports only ~ check out Princess Bea Well's introductory post for further instructions.

Sending all good wishes for your recoveries and many thanks for your co-operation in keeping the site organised for all!

Bobbe,

I had Davinci too and you are right about the pain and not knowing. The upper left incision is the most difficult one..I would still do it again of course but it would have been nice to know what to expect
