feeling like your life is on hold???
Yes, I love the people that say, "You'll be fine, This will be a piece of cake, It's no big deal" It is a big deal to all of us or we wouldn't be on this site.
It is all so consuming. I wake up in the middle of the night just to get another day started sooner to get this over with sooner.
God Bless all of us!!

No kidding... and when I wake up, I wake up quick and sharp... and then, I can't go back to sleep even thought I KNOW I have a full day ahead of me... and THEN, I get up, make tea... watch a little TV... watch the sun come up and feel even worse...

I have not purchased anything from the site store but have gotten several items for myself to make me a comfortable as possible.
I have my post op in a few days and that makes me nervous as well.
Lets be strong together and encourage each other. Just imagine how much better (and hopefully thinner) we'll be.
Here's to recovery

Just knowing someone else is having it the same day as me makes me feel better. I don't have any post op apointment made??? Should I??? My docs office just said that the hospital would call my with inst. I am having a pre op physical, you know blood test the usual stuff. Should I ask my doc office about a post op, I have heard others talk about it!?!?
We can be Hyster partners!! Good luck and keep in touch!!!

feeling like your life is on hold???
Hey girls:
My heart goes out to those of you waiting. I'm now 18 days post-op and don't know where the time went.
I can remember being two weeks pre-op filled with anxiety and fear. I found that writing about it in a journal really helped, along with asking my Higher Power to take away my fears. Miraculously, it worked. Two or three days pre-op I was actually excited out the procedure. The thought of no more periods was awesome! Yes, much of your life now is based on before/after your hysterectomy. I can remember saying to myself that this was the last weekend before my surgery, or the last Tuesday before my surgery, etc.
If you are like me, once the surgery is over and you are going through the recovery process, you'll look back on this time and wonder why you were so worried.
My last period ended on the day of my surgery. My body couldn't have planned it any better. Either that, or God has a tremendous sense of humor, and didn't want me to forget why I was having the surgery.
s everyone! You're all going to be just fine!

feeling like your life is on hold???
I am 6wks out..I also feel the same way when ppl tell me I will be so much better when it's over.. I know that or else I wouldn't be doing this but at the same time I don't need to hear about it. I booked a vacation for a week before my surgery coming home the day before so I don't drive myself crazy...

Yes, you are all feeling the same feelings as I am. Just once I would like to turn my mind off for a while. It seems to consume me . . . these thoughts of surgery. All of a sudden out of no where, I'll mention something to my husband about the surgery, or instructions for how to work the microwave, since he doesn't have a clue, or to tell him about how wonderful the peppermint tea is helping my poor stomach feel better and he looks at me like, "there she goes again". I can't help myself. I just keep talking about it out of context. Egads! There she goes again.
I hate to think about how long it will be before I'll be able to button up my jeans again, or how long it'll be before I can swing my tennis racquet, or have real sex again without wincing or holding my breath.
Just worries that will ease once I wake up after surgery and breathe that sign of relief.
Ah, life will be good then. All will be good.

feeling like your life is on hold???
I am 13 days away from my surgery and also feel like many of you...that my life is on hold. Right now I am trying to organize my home and work life for when I will be out, but I'm having so much trouble staying focused on either. I manage a department and I know they can handle things without me but I'm worried about it.
I'm nervous but at the same time can't wait to regain my life and be pain free (hopefully). I'm having my last period and I keep thinking about that and in a few months I won't have to endure this pain and discomfort anymore.
Good luck to all you ladies that are preparing for surgery. The end of our suffering is in sight!
