I know this is minor compared to many problems but I was hoping someone could tell me about this. I noticed a bunch in my arm while I was still in the hospital. It runs the length of my vein in my arm for about 4 inches. It's above one of the IV sites they used. In the hospital the nurse put hot packs on it. It's been two weeks and I'm still having trouble with it. Any suggestions?

I had phlebitis after my surgery too. BAD.. It was uncomfortable and bumpy and even hurt a little.. only time takes it away.. sorry, I can't help with it.. just hot packs and time. A lot of time.. my surgery was in January.. and I still notice a couple of bumps.

Hi Debbie,

It may be that your arm needs more time to complete the healing process. However, phlebitis can turn into a very serious medical condition, so please speak to your Dr. ASAP about your symptoms. It's always best to have a problem like this medically evaluated to be on the safe side.

Best wishes and s
