Watch out for overzealous Christmas decorating!!

Hi, everyone - just had to stop in and laugh at myself. Today was decorating day at my house - I was so excited to embrace the Christmas season. So I went full force, the house, the tree, even another tree for the basement, ran to the store for more decorations, etc. etc. And, holy moly, this evening I am on the couch in my pj's with the hot rice pack on my back feeling mighty sore (only in back). But! My house sure looks perrrrty! LOL I am such a silly hystersister! lol So... beware of that voice in your head that says "oh, come on, one more box of decorations will look soooo pretty! you can do it!" Don't listen, girls, don't do it! It will kick you in the bootie a few hours later!

Watch out for overzealous Christmas decorating!!

Kiwi - I was on the couch after my decorating experience yesterday too. It was nice to turn the lights down and gaze at my handiwork! I did have two of my big football player sons put the lights on the top third of the tree and the garland above the cupboards - they are spoiling their mama and I love it. DH even cleaned the basement after digging out the Christmas decorations. Tomorrow I will tackle the basement/family room decorating and try that couch out - I feel great today!

Enjoy the season,
Gail in snowy MN

Watch out for overzealous Christmas decorating!!

I had to resond to this post. I want to acknowledge that I have the best friends in the world.

I had my hyst on 11/15. Two of my friends are going to come over and decorate my house for me. They told me I could sit on the couch with bailey's Irish Cream and direct them. I am extremely fortunate....

Watch out for overzealous Christmas decorating!!

The one thing that I totally despise doing is putting on the tree lights...hate it!
My parents bought me a tree this year with the lights already on the tree...
my kids have been putting the ornaments on the tree for years, so all I have to do is put the tree up, put the red beads on and then sit back and relax and tell them if there is a blank spot anywhere...lol

Watch out for overzealous Christmas decorating!!

Hi sisters

Isn't it wonderful to know this year that Aunt Flo won't ruin your Christmas? LOL She diffinately won't show up uninvited!!!
It sounds you ladies all have it covered. It is quite a enjoyable experience when you can sit back and watch dear family members and friends do the decorating. You notice the little things, like the care given to not break the ornaments, the small talk, the remember when I made this ornament, etc. Usually there is alot of history in those old ornaments and decorations. A time to remember when your kids were little and are now bigger than you. Three of my sons are close to 6'4" now. I no longer have any "little boys".
I hope all of you have a very merry holiday season and a healthy one. This will be the first flo and pain free Christmas in years for alot of us.I did get a wonderful gift last year. I actually skipped my Dec.-Jan. period. The first time ever, except for when I was pregnant. My inlaws were in from Florida and I actually didn't feel miserable. I made up for it the next month though. LOL

Go ahead and help with the decorating if you are up to it, but remember to take it easy. You don't want to mess anything up inside. The couch and icecream does sound good!!!

Watch out for overzealous Christmas decorating!!

I am sitting in my beloved recliner (relieves the pressure off my booty) and thinking of how I can take it easy today. My husband is set on decorating for Christmas today. He gets so focused and intends to finish it today, do or die. I reminded him that I won't be much help, but he is focused. I know that after a few trips to Walmart getting the last minute stuff, and fighting the dogs over the Garland , he will not be done tonight. We don't even have a tree yet!!!

My DH is so good to me, he doesn't expect me to help much, boy the kids are sure in for it though

Let ya know how it goes.
