No hyst needed!

Guess what! I got a call from my gyno today and he said, Barb...i may have great news. I'm thinking, oh...they can do it earlier and get it over with....he says....we sent your tests to another hospital...a women's hospital for a second opinion and it came back NORMAL..no hyperplasia at all!!!!! PraiseGod! He thinks we may not even need to do the surgery! I was stunned, totally! We are going to keep the date scheduled while we seek a 3rd opinion to be sure...I'll see an oncology specialist in a couple of weeks (he's on vacation right now!) and he'll tell me right there what he determines. If he also says normal, we'll not do the surgery. I know I don't have a for sure answer, but I've been so happy all day....I figure I may as well enjoy the next two weeks and deal with it then if I still have to have the surgery.

Edited for update on 8/02/05:
I just wanted you to know that I can't thank God enough for finding your site.

I was diagnosed with hyperplasia with atypical cells and possible further involvement so it was recommended to have a complete hysterectomy on August 2nd. My thorough doctor sent my pathology report to a woman's hospital for a 2nd opinion fearing that I may have more involvement and wanted to make sure I didn't need more serious surgery.

Thankfully, it came back that I was totally normal and didn't need any surgery or treatment whatsoever. This was confirmed by another oncologist which also showed it to two others. Needless to say, your advice to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion is so true!

Thank you and I am praying for others on this site who still need to go through a hysterectomy and are recovering. Thank you so much for what you provide
here...it truly is an answer to prayer for many. I will definitely pass this on to my doctor so others may be helped.

God bless you all!
Barb
