No More Migraines

Only 11 more days till this will be over till my surgery, aside from my regular side pain I now have a terrific MIGRAINE
One of the problems I have are migraines right before I start each and everymonth...This time it is here early..6days, and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how to rid myslef of it? I cant believe I am even on the computer, but something told me that my sister here might be able to help.
I am glad this will be the last migraine I will have associated with my problems. But this one sure is a whopper. It is too late to call Dr. I was taking pain meds, but dont have any left, and the regular otc arent working. any thoughts would be helpful!

No More Migraines

Oh honey do I know migraines!!!

I am the same way, I get one right before I start and then usually at the tail end. The blinding, head throbbing, turn off the lights, bury your head in a pillow, puke but dont cry because even that hurts too much kind of headache...
Okay, I used to take fiornal...worked semi okay. My doc just prescribed migrin...the stuff is GOLD!!
I took one when the headache came on, and it still hung around, so I took the 2nd one about 10 minutes later and the migraine just ....disappeared. I couldn't believe it, I almost cried!! I have suffered with these for about two decades and here is this pill that just made it dissolve! And I was able to go and eat dinner, go swimming and read a book without falling asleep. And, I didn't have that bruised feeling that usually lingers in your head after the fact. Okay, thats my rant about migrin.
to help you today.... If you have any tylenol or advil take like 3, then drink a pepsi or anything with caffeine that is cold(that I learned from my doc), now, get an ice pack and put it on the lower part of the back of your head (right where the neck connects). find a dark room and a heavy pillow and bury yourself. the cold will help to concentrate the pain to just that one area of your head. After a little bit you can move the ice pack to the front of your head to shift the pain again. If you have any type of sleep aid, TAKE IT before you bury yourself under a pillow. I am so sorry sweetheart, I think I am getting a sympathy headache just thinking about it. I hope you feel better!

Another headache idea

Since you're a few days to surgery..get a good massage. you probably need one anyway and let them know you have a headache - don't use essential oils if smells kill you during the headache - afterwards take a long hot shower and let water hit your neck and shoulders. Maybe that will help. I know that my dr has me off all meds including OTC June1 to surgery...ugg

Thanks, everyone for the ideas. The shower kinda helped, and so did the ice pack. I think that this is the nerves kicking in, because migraine went away around 3 am this morning, then came back after the hospital called about pre-op stuff... It isnt as bad, but I was hoping since they are taking my only ovary that it would be the end of the head aches? Which area would I go to, to post for help on this?
Thanks so much.

try the ovary only area and ask them if it's still an issue. Maybe they'll have better answers.
