The Long awaited Castle Story

7/18/02 4:30 am --- get send off from chat room groupies!!!!

5am -- get in the car and drive to castle

6am -- stop at gas station to pee and let dh smoke

7am -- arrive at surgical floor

7:15 am -- dressed in hospital gown, peed in cup, answered dumb questions they already know, was told first surgery canceled I was first.

7:30 am -- off to OR. Met with anthesiaologist, had arguement about epidural vs general. gave up cause I was tired, took general against my better judgement.

Last thing I remember was being cold.

woke up in recovery, puked, puked, and puked some more......went back to sleep land, woke up again and puked some more.....hazily remember doc say "we had to make "small" incision to finish surgery, and they were real thorough but they couldn't find the left ovary and tube. I remember saying "I can't do this again, I can't do this again". I went back to drug land.

Woke up in room, dh there, told him I can't do this again and cried alot. He said what do you mean, I said they didn't take out the ovary that hurt so much, said they couldn't find it.

Ok, now here come the pain meds, keeping in mind I am allergice to demerol (synthetic morphine), morphine, talwin (another synthetic morphine), so they give me.......Delaudid (another synthetic morphine), well it made me sick real sick. They kept saying no it's the anthesia....but finally I said that's it no more! I gave up all pain pills and viola I felt 100 percent better in 5-6 hours except for the pain.

The doctors were great! The Nurses are overworked and no amount of suck up candy would help. I was pretty much left alone.

Sunday 1pm released for the two hour drive home.

Been getting better ever since.....slowly without pain meds and hrt. but better none the less.

So.........where did the left ovary and tube go?? Who knows, napped by aliens? She ran away cause the going was tough?
Still there hiding? hmmmmmmm I have a picture of her in '99 looking just fine. I have posted this on milk cartons so if you see her send her home please. I don't want to have to have surgery again.

The final surgery was TVH after removing uterus, converting to TAH, with a "small" incision from hip bone to hip bone, RSO, cause you really can't say BSO cause they only got one to show for it. Burch Bladder repair.

There ya go ladies!!! My castle trip. Any prebies that read this don't be scared, I am never a normal case of anything!!!!!!
