Cyst? Ovary? What is it?

Well, scheduled for a hysterectomy on the 27th. In 1999 my gyn took my left ovary, said it had a dermoid cyst on it, with material she wasn't familiar with, and removed it. Ever since then, I've had bad "ovulation" discharge from 3 days after my cycle..up until about a week before it. Pain at times, drop to your knees pain. My MD put me on progesterone after testing my blood/hormone levels weren't right. Kind of helped, but every 2 months now, drop to my knees pain. Recently, my left side hurt more during bowel movements. MD said that my bowels were inflamed, did an ultra sound, told me BOTH of my ovaries looked healthy (I heard him....but didn't really "hear" him)..sent me to get a colonoscopy. Had a polyup removed. Still not fixed, but my mind was still thinking about how "both" ovaries looked healthy. I HAD to contact my MD. Remind him...ummm I only have one ovary. He resent the tests back to the radiologist, who confirmed once again, that the smaller one on the left is in fact, and ovary. ok...so, Off I go to a GYN. He hears my story, suggests a hysterectomy, and off I go to pre-op with him tomorrow. Kind of scary. Wonder what that thing is on the left? Anyone else have something like that? I get tired easily. And I'm a runner, eat healthy, very healthy, not overweight. Moody? yup. sure I am at times. Periods. normal I guess..heavy clots towards the end. No pain during my periods..just after and before. Anyone have any ideas?

Since you still have questions, I think that maybe you should take the time and get a second opinion. I'd be concerned with the discrepancies with the first dr. Be good to your self, get another or even more opinions. You're worth it!

Hi

I think that 2nd and 3rd opinions are a good thing for everybody. Since you still have unanswered questions though, I would encourage you especially to seek out more opinions.

s and Best Wishes,
