What's the difference between an endometrial biopsy and colposcopy?

This is probably a silly question but, with all these test, I'm getting so confused.

What's the difference between an endometrial biopsy and a colposcopy biopsy???

My endometrial biopsy came back normal but because of an abnormal pap, I'm have a colposcopy biopsy Tuesday.

The colposcopy I think they use a camera so they can see where they want to take the biopsy. The other is just a blind biopsy.

In a colposcopy, the doctor uses a magnifying device to study your vulva, vagina and cervix for signs of cancer. It doesn't involve the uterus. A "colposcopy biopsy" sounds as if the doctor is going to use the magnifying device to direct exactly where to take the biopsy.

In an endometrial biopsy, the doctor inserts a probe through the cervix *into* the uterus to take a sample of the endometrial layer of the uterus. The sample is being taken in a completely different location than the colposcopy covers.

If the doctor uses thin, lighted tube to look through the cervix into the uterus, that's called a hysteroscopy.
