Lupron....Love/Hate Relationship

Well I have taken my last shot of Lupron to shrink my cantelope size fibroids. In three months it shrunk my uterus from being 3 inches higher than my belly button to 1 size lower. So it worked BUT the headaches, hot flashes, exhaustion........I am so ready to be done with this whole thing, just to cross over into the land of Hyster. What will that be like? How will my body respond? Will I want my husband again like before? So many questions that can't be answered this side of the SAH. Well........I just wanted to share. I came home from work today, took some strong meds for the headache and took a nap. I feel better now but I am always uplifted by the sisterhood and the sense of belonging that I feel with all of you on the site. I have told several people to check it out and they all love it too. God bless you all.

Lupron....Love/Hate Relationship

I finished my six months and have just begun week 1 of no Lupron. No change yet. My right hand and fingers are numb, my joints hurt, and I'm definitely low on lubrication. My hair was falling out for a while and now it has a strange texture.

I've had headaches for quite a while so I don't expect that will change.

Keep us posted!

Lupron....Love/Hate Relationship

I had my SAH this past October and I just want to let you know the "other side" can be wonderful! My desire for my husband is even greater now because I don't feel so "full" in my abdomen and miserable with symptoms. Also the "Os" are stronger and more numerous. I feel SO much younger now that it is all over with.

Just be sure to give your body time to heal and try not to judge how you will feel long term by how you feel even 4 weeks after. Every day post-surgery can mean huge strides in recovery. It's a major surgery so it takes quite a while to completely heal. But, as so many hystersisters report, it is the beginning of a new and "feel-good" life.

If you have any questions or just need to vent, please feel free to e-mail me.

Best of luck!
