Upcoming hysterectomy: Recovery after cold knife cone biopsy

What were your experiences with being able to go back to work, take care of kids, pain level., after getting home after cone biopsy?

I am so nervous about everything to come (hysterectomy to follow in a few weeks - but trying to take one step at a time). Need as much info as possible even if it's difficult stuff. The not knowing really gets me.....
