Morning All!

I saw the pictures in Nancy's gallery. Looks like fun goin' on! I couldn't quite figure out who was who on the beach. I recognize Desk by her hair, but couldn't figure out the rest of the line-up. Desk, we are alike.......change the heads and that could be me!

I forced myself into the pool yesterday. It was so muggy out that I really wanted to just stay inside but I haven't done any walking for so long that I went in. I did a lot of running across the pool. Hopefully, I'm right in thinking the neighbors can't see.

I have a meeting in the city today and it will be a challenge. We usually end these quarterly meetings with dinner at a nice place which serves wonderful red potatoes and a great blue cheese dressing. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies....this will be my first "problem" since I started the SBD. I really want to stick with it all the time.

Have a nice day, everyone!

Hi gang!

Em -- BSQ is the one sitting down on the beach, I'm the one in the hat and Xena is the one hiding behind everyone (kinda next to me) that you can only see her head. Shirley has on the denim dress on one side of Desk and Dawn is in the t-shirt on the other side of desk. Nancy is the one in the back row on the left with the blonde hair. I think that covers everyone.......

In the photo on the paddleboat if you go from left to right it's me, Shirley, Nancy, Dawn, BSQ.

Just a few quick notes (yea right a short post from me )

I promised at BEST camp to post a couple of recipes. Headed there in a minute.

On Tuesday's thread I posted about cleaning out your PM's and your subscribed threads. Rather than go thru all that again in case any of you missed it, if you're interested in doing so, please either go back to that thread and check it out or email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to tell you how to do it if you can't figure it out. We were talking about Hystersisters at camp (imagine that ) and it turned out a lot of the gals didn't know about cleaning out their PM's and subscribed threads.

I'm headed to this morning and will probably do some house-cleaning when I come home. Yesterday was an OP day and hopefully today will be too. We're doing veggie burgers on bagels and salad for dinner tonight, it doesn't get much more OP than that. Might be going to the lake tomorrow -- HOPE SO!

I'm off to post recipes so I can make it to the gym on time......

Have the BEST day everybody!!

You BEST campers look AWESOME at the beach and on the boat! Wish I had a tan like some of you have! Looks like a great trip, I am sooooo jealous!

Since I didn't get a real answer from my gp "doc", I went to GNC as he suggested and the guy behind the counter unfortunately knew less than I did about the subject. I ended up buying a calcium/magnesium suppliment that also contains zinc and copper. Will try taking this and see if the muscle spasms get any better. I'm already choking down potassium. My neighbor went on this little jaunt with me and we ended up shopping for clothes on the summer clearance racks. I bought a skirt (way out of character for me) and a blouse that once I got them home and "really" tried them on I didn't like how they fit, so they will be going back this evening. But I wound up with two other blouses and a pair of WHITE (oh my gosh, white??! Thank you DrC, I can actually wear white again!) shorts as well as a WHITE DRESS that I do love.

No exercise to speak of, we've had some tremendous storms in the past couple of days. Hopefully I'll be out and on the bike again tonight.

Have a great day.

Good Morning All! Did well last night. Went to our favorite local sports bar for dinner (Like Cheers, where everybody knows your name, and your drink order ). But I had ice water to drink, that threw the waitress and a grilled chicken sandwich that I took off the bun. I put DH's salsa on it. It was pretty good that way. I'm getting ready to exercise, I'm waiting on DD to let me know she got to work ok. It's an hour drive in crazy traffic. I just relax more once she calls.

The BEST pictures that I have are in my photo gallery now. They are also in the 2003 gatherings. If you read underneath the photos, it will tell you who everyone is. I tried to put them in order, but at the Beach, we're sort of ascue.

EM, I use to do laps in my pool when I had it. But the water was so cold I felt like I was exercising in ice water. I'm sending you good willpower vibes for your dinner tonight. How is DIL and DS's house. Did they get much damage. My parents kept finding things. Eventually even things like their furnace had to be replaced. Not any fun at all.

Ann, I didn't know I was a blonde I'm just a very sun-bleached out light brunette. But I might like being mistaken for blonde. Blondes do have more fun, right?

Nel, I take a Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc supplement for pain. So does DH. I read that it helps with fibromyalgia pain, and we tried it. It actually helped in just a few days. Mine doesn't have copper. I don't know if that would make any difference or not.
Let us know how it's doing. We take 3 of them in the morning. That is the dosage. Don't ya just love being able to wear white again. I do.

BSQ, I love your new Avatar. It's so perfect! Hope you have another OP day. Good luck on the news from the interview.

Melissa, How are your friends doing? Hopefully better. That is so scary. It was good chatting with you last night, well as long as we could stay in anyway.

Shirley, It's taking me forever to shop right now, because I read every label that I'm putting in my cart. But I guess, once I learn what's good and what's not, I can quit reading the ones I've learned are good. Your dinner sounds yummy.

Tamara, Have a safe drive home. Let us know when you get back.

Lisa, Red Lobster is one of my favorites, but we sometimes too get a really bad meal there. Try complaining to them at www.redlobster.com I complain about everything anymore, and sometimes I'll get coupons for money off. Or at least the satisfaction of a good complaint. I LOVE Red Lobster's biscuits. There about to die for I think. I'll have to stay out of there for awhile I guess.

toolgrl, Dawn, It's good to see you posting, not just lurking. Come on in and join the fun!

Everyone have a great day. I'll check in later!

Morning all

Dawnie.......come out come out from where ever you are! Quit lurking and just jump right in - waters fine at BEST.

Well gang, today I'm off to Baltimore. Now why you say? Well since my SIL can't find her way out of a wet paper bag, I am the navigator to the Balt. airport. Her DD's (ages 11 & 13) are headed off to AZ to spend a month with their auntie. Balt. is 2+1/2 hrs away BUT offered such a cheap price, way below leaving out of Phila according to SIL. The only reason I am going is so that the poor little things don't miss their flight (leave it up to my SIL and they will end up in mexico in the van :lol).

Ouch - hard to type with the kitten biting my fingers and chasing the mouse, lol. Little bugger!

Nanc - pics are great - so good to see all of you! I went to "meetings 2003". Are there more in your gallery? I'll have to check it out next. Dawn?jjnnnnpl; on the beach, front row-right, in the long tee shirt - could be me!! Wish it had been me!

Lisa - We don't ever go back to RL near us - went twice, got a horriable meal both times. We complained right then & there, they didn't do a thing to fix it, so I take my hard earned money elsewhere. I live at the shore, so good seafood is easy to get around here. Did you say anything at the time? They should have made good on your meal if you wern't happy or at least given you the key lime pie on the house. And an apology.

Everyone thanks for asking about my friends. They are doing fine. Sore and stiff. She can do the MRI and have her mechanic look at her car when she returns to FL at the end of the week. They must wear their neck braces till looked at by the Orthop. doc when they get back.

Nel - your storms are moving this way - had some whoppers the last two days!

It was great chatting with everyone last night once we managed to get into the same room!! Crazy AIM. Look forward to next week. Good thing I post a note to myself to remind me.

If there are still some crazy words in this post, it's because the
wanted to say "hello" to all of you! Can't wait till DD finds her own apt. and takes the little bugger with her. My poor OLD kitty is very upset and still won't come in the house when this little guy is around. Aahhhhh what's a mom to do?

Hugs to all -
Melissa

I still have not had a chance to read all the back posts, and just skimmed today's, so can't say an individual yet. This morning we tossed out our sugar supply and our flour supply. So there! That's the good news. I think I did okay this morning, had an egg and a slim-fast type shake and a quart of water by 8 AM, and at 10 had another egg. For lunch I have a romaine salad with grape tomatoes and some pieces of steak that DH grilled last night while I napped. Probably took too much, but it seems very very lean, so I think it will be okay. Snack will be a protein shake made with water. DH promises a small and balanced meal for dinner ( I think he will take it from the Zone cookbook).

Trashcan update: a "new" metal trashcan was sitting in the kitchen this morning. One of those old-fashioned looking metal cans with a lid. He had painted it yellow. There was another smaller wastebasket inside it. Then the metal one disappeared and the little one was sitting out. The one bungee'd to the chain link fence was not in evidence this morning. But today was trash day, so I have to expect a little rotation on a day like this.

no exercise, took a very short walk with s because DH's knee hurt. Some minor communication problems today, but those will resolve soon. Maybe I can get to Curves this afternoon.

Many s

Good afternoon everyone. Sounds like you all had fun on your trip. Sorry to ask a dumb question but how do you get to the 2003 gatherings to view the pictures?

I went to Weight Watchers and got weighed in. I lost 4 pounds for a total of 13. Yeehaw!

nel - alright on the white shorts & dress I won't be seeing that color for another 60 lbs.

nanch - Great job staying OP. I envy you with your exercising. I hope that I can get into program and stick with it.

lissesred66 - have a safe trip to balt.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi BEST Friends And that includes you Toolgrl!!! Stop "learning" and start posting

Well, yesterday did end up OP after all and I had time to go swimming before the rain started. It was actually really pleasant: it's an outdoor pool and, because it's been on the cool side, there were practically no kids there, so I did 20 lengths in 45 minutes!!! And the water was quite warm. I love going swimming right after supper, because the air is still, there's no wind, or very little of it, and less likely to get the chills. And, I get to get a very good night's sleep afterwards.... except that my arms are aching from the new type of exercising.

This morning, I biked to work, and it was just starting to drizzle as I parked my bike. It rained this morning, but it's now stopped... or, at least, it's down to a drizzle again... so, hopefully, I'll be able to bike home tonight.

Today is OP so far and I'm pretty sure I lost weight: my clothes feel looser again. If that's what it turns out to be, I'll know for sure that I'm getting the hang of this maintenance thing!!! BTW, one of the things I've realized, is that it's more important to eat all of the foods from the weight-loss program than it is to get the extras in. So, I'm trying to ensure that I have all of my "mandatories" before I indulge in the little "perks" of maintenance.

((((Nancy)))) i had a look at your pics from the BEST Camp and they're simply awesome. Looks like all of you had a great time. Can't wait to see the other pictures!!! 10 lbs is awesome!!!

((((Ann)))) and (((((Shirley)))) it's wonderful that you've lost weight/inches during BEST camp. I guess it's just another example of just how important support is.

((((Lisa)))))) Sorry your trip to the restaurant ended up being so disappointing!!! That's one of the reasons DH and I never eat out anymore: he always comes out feeling that he could have done better, had he been the cook (he's an awesome cook!!!)

(((Melissa)))) my cat is no longer a kitten (in fact, never had him as a kitten) and he still manages to get on my laps, play on the keyboards and attack the screen as I type!!!

((((BSQ)))) Hope you get that position. I know how nerve racking waiting can be: I went for an interview for a position that I would absolutely love, yesterday, and I know that I have to wait until next week for the results... it's nerve racking... especially since I don't know, for sure, how I did: I know I didn't blow it altogether, but I also didn't come out of it with the feeling of "I've got it".... so we'll see.

Well... better get back to work if I want to keep this job LOL!!!
