TRil19's Vaginal Hysterectomy Story

Vaginal Hysterectomy
Age at Surgery 42
Location: Illinois

After quitting the pill, I started to develop fibroids. They were growing rapidly and I had to have a hysterectomy.

My surgery was scheduled quickly. I did not have time to research any options. My fibroids were growing, I was severely anemic. The day of my surgery My blood had to be checked to make sure I discussed need a blood transfusion prior to surgery. My fibroids had grown so larhe in such a short time. They removed 6lds of fibroids

I also worked out so I tried to keep my workout routines the same before my surgery. I believe this helped with my recovery.

Definitely a slowed down progress. I was running before my surgery, a year later I am not running.

Listen to your body! Your body has changed and will continue to change! If yoy did not eat healthy, now is the time to change! Exercise, yoga saved my life, both physically and mentally. I use to run and and do high imaging interval training. Those days are gone but I’ve found a different exercise, low impact and lots of yoga has been an excellent replacement. I've maintained my weight. But i do notice more back pain and sitting for long periods of time is not good
