TVH: Really freaking out!!! Opinions please!!!!

Okay, I've been knowing I had to have a hyster since Feb for prolapsed uterus and bladder, and it is scheduled for next week, but tonight I had something happen that has freaked me out!! This will probably be TMI, but I need to know if this is something anyone else has experienced! I have a constant problem with constipation and pressure down under, but earlier it really felt like something was falling out, almost like having a tampon in and it was starting to protrude, only I didn't have one in!!!! I put my finger down there and as soon as I applied a little pressure I had a bowl movement!! Know that I'm over the initial shock, I feel like my bowel was trying pushing through my vagina if that makes sense!!! Is this normal for my problem with prolapse? Sorry for the specific details but I didn't know where to ask until I can contact my Dr.

It is a side effect of the prolapse. You had increased pressure form your bowel not being empty and when you pushed you put your bowel where it should be, causing the movement. I would definitely call your dr first thing in the am and tell him your symptoms have progressed. Good Luck to you!

Dmhill3... Welcome to the world or prolapse . But rest assured, you are leaving that world and starting a new life after surgery!! Definitely contact your doctor & update him regarding your current bowel status. You will feel like a new woman once your prolapse issues have been resolved. I have regined my life hugs to you!!!

That is exactly what's been happening to me for a while now... I hate that I have to 'help' myself have a BM! My doctor told me that my prolapse has caused a cystocele (bladder pushing into vagina), and a rectocele (rectum pushing into vagina). I'm having those repairs, a hysterectomy (to avoid future repairs), and a bladder sling done all on July 26th.

Do you have any more appointments scheduled with your doctor before your surgery? I know this is frustrating and scary, but totally resolvable!

Thanks for the replies, I am so ready to feel like a normal woman again. @Faire Lady, I have my pre-op appt on July the 2nd. I am also having a bladder sling done, I'm so ready for all this to be over!! I am making myself sick, literally, with stress and frustration.
