Cancelled my surgery

My surgery was scheduled for today. I just could not make peace with having this surgery and was crying uncontrollably off and on for several days. Thank you for this site!! Because of the wonderful ladies here I was encouraged to make sure I had educated myself on all of my options before having a hysterectomy. I found MrGFUS that could get rid of my fibroids and I don't live very far from one of the places that does this. I was able to get in next week for my initial exam due to a cancellation the Dr. had which I take as a positive sign since it's normally 6-8 weeks to get an appointment. Looking forward to a fibroid free future without surgery. Wishing all of you ladies good health!

I am glad you reassessed your situation, getting opinions from other doctors and are going a different route. You really do have to listen to yourself when that part of you is speaking very loudly about not having a hysterectomy. With MrGFUS, your uterus is preserved. That is wonderful.

I had to look up what MrGFUS is which is a little sad, because i had my hysterectomy for fibroids, and i never knew this treatment alternative even existed. Thank you. I was nervous to cancel and my Dr. Office seemed quite befuddled when I called to cancel. They oddly were a bit combative as well. I will keep you all posted on my MRgFUS progress. I feel very fortunate to live close to where this is done.

I am sorry that your doctor was combative about your cancellation. This is your body and your decision. We have numerous women who, on second or third thoughts, cancel this surgery. The fact that they were combative throws up more red flags . I am glad you are going to another medical practice for this treatment.
