Anyone had c-section then able to have TVH

Morning all.

I am due to have surgery on the 30/10. My gynae said that it will be a vaginal hysto but said that he may have to cahnge it to a abdominal one as I have had two c-sections. Has anyone had two c-sections and managed a vaginal hysto?

I really really don't want to be cut AGAIN!

I had one c-section and then a VBAC, and I was able to have a vaginal hysterectomy. The c-section tissue had adhered to the bladder, and my doctor said it was pretty tricky--but all worked well for me.

It sounds like your doctor wants to do the procedure that will work best for you in the long run. I tried to prepare myself mentally for having an abdominal surgery so I wouldn't be too disappointed if the vaginaly surgery hadn't worked out.

Thank you, so there is hope! I have been preparing myself for a TAH and believe it will probably be done that way - if not it will be a bonus!

I had 2 C sections and 4 vaginal births, and just had a TVH. My doctor said that one possible complication could be adhesions between my bladder and the old C section scars on the uterus, but everything turned out ok.

My sister had a vaginal birth and then a c-section with my nephew who weighed 10 lbs and she had a TVH a couple of years ago. She is still pleased with the hyst results.
