Was suppose to have surgery thanks to covid that's a no

I have had some severe pelvic and groin pain , bloating like I'm 8 months pregnant had a hysterectomy in 2014 still have ovaries . Apparently scans came back reviewed by ear doc not a specialist negative CT, ultrasound, mri have been reviewed but not by specialist.
My fear is ovarian cancer, breast cancer , and lymphoma are all in family.blood work came back funny high WBC, high platelets, high neutrophils and more . The only thing seen on scan in emergency room doctors words was vaginal cuff has infection , abcess otlr just fatty tissue , trace free fluids, and small ovarian cyst (PCOS). Btw m dad was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at 37 passed at 42 I am now 34
The doc who was gonna do surgery changed jobs with out notification. I see the VA so it takes a long time for another referral

I don't know what to do anymore 2 years on and off of pain hysterectomy in 2014 I was 28 now this past week I can't hardly get to the bathroom, my husband's been off a week to help me. But not one doctor with but my blood results and appearance and pain together. Sorry I know y'all ain't doctors but I have nobody to talk to or even anybody who has had issues like me

Re: Was suppose to have surgery thanks to covid that's a no

This is terrible!

First things first, I am not a medical professional nor a veteran, but I have some experience with the VA and family members/frinds.

I know veterans fall under care based on several things - time of service, service connection, wartime or no, disability rating and if there is one, what %, and probably several other that I am missing.

At any rate, do you have and ability to go to an emergency room that isn't in the VA system? There can be a way to see a private pay doc through the VA depending on the above mentioned items as well as TriCare and if you have a private insurance.

There could also be a way to see a private doc based on above. Maybe try a consult with a teledoc if that's possible for you.

Those high blood counts could be attibuted to the mentioned infection. General observation, no medical advice. You know your body best! Reach out to as many places/doctors you can until they see you.

Hopefully I have given you an idea or two, maybe I haven't, but I hope you can get it all taken care of quickly!

Stay safe from the gowing pandemic crisis!

I'm sorry you're dealing with the stress of not having answers to your concerns. I hope the Doctor has you on antibiotics for the vaginal cuff infection. When I was pregnant with my daughter years ago I developed an ovation cyst. My OBGYN had me recline with my feet up, putting an ice pack on my belly off & on. It finally resolved itself.
You mentioned family members & their medical issues & I certainly understand your concerns. My family has had diebetes & cancer, but at 68 years old I'm still free & clear. Even though we may be at a higher risk, it doesn't mean we will get cancer or whatever health problem they had. We can exercise & eat right & hope it makes a difference.
I do hope you'll be able to be seen by a specialist & have your blood work evaluated so you can know for sure what's going on. I myself tend to think the worst when in that limbo state of not having answers Hope all your concerns will be looked at so you can have peace of mind also. I'll be praying for you. Please keep us informed on your progress, ok? Thanks

Re: Was suppose to have surgery thanks to covid that's a no

Oh Ceasley, it must be scary going through pain and feeling that treatment is needed. Twilight's idea to see a doctor or ER outside the VA system sounds good, just like getting a second opinion. Also wondering if you were sent home with meds/treatment for infection and recommendation for cyst - possibly an internal transvaginal ultrasound to look closely at ovary/pelvic areas? I'm sure not a doc but affirm you for reaching out for help and support. You're doing the right thing to ask questions and keep seeking. Praying that the Lord gives clear direction and opens the door to answers and healing for you very soon. ~Hugs, Lavender

I had a hysterectomy in 2017, I recently started to bleed and urinate with very little movement so I thought I had a UTI all the signs pointed to a UTI because of Covid my gyno called me in a RX for a UTI but after a week of not feeling better she had me come in for a pap and she to told me my vaginal cuff looked enlarged but she thought it was just scar tissue inflamed from my hysterectomy 3 years ago. My pap results came back everything was fine however she didn’t trust it so she sent me to the cancer hospital to have a second pap and a biopsy a week later. My doctor there said it didn’t look like cancer but it was inflamed and he didn’t trust the first negative pap so he wanted the biopsy. A week later he calls me at work to tell me that I have vaginal cancer he’s not sure what stage or if it spread to the lymph so then I had to go for a pet scan . So I am currently battling stage 1 vaginal cancer. They told me when I had my hysterectomy due to precervical cancer cells that there was a small chance I could get vaginal cancer because many women do after having cervical cells. I never thought it would be me. So my advice is to take this very seriously and keep pushing these doctors until they give you answers. The vaginal cuff having issues is a real thing, for me it’s cancer. So don’t give up because you feel defeated you need to make sure they test and retest until they can say 100% it’s not cancer I wouldn’t let it go. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
