Upcoming hysterectomy 18th August: Surgery during Corona

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. It truly is helping me feel less nervous about the procedure. Good to know others have been there and had a positive experience.

I go in on Aug. 20. I have to be there at 5:30 a.m. I won't be able to have my husband there with me either. I am super-nervous and not feeling good about it at all. I've had 3 c-sections (back in the '90s) and could have some scarring and adhesions, according to the dr. I'm dreading it like crazy.

my surgery is also on the 18th and was just told yesterday that no one can even enter the building with me. i am a very independent person but it still makes me a little anxious. I will also have to stay overnight. i know i will be fine but it would be much more assuring to see my family before and at night.

Mine is on the 19th as well. It's so nice to have found so many women the same issues as me. I'm so thankful that for this website!

Thank you for asking this! The responses have helped calm my fears too! So far, I’ve been told my husband can see me for an hour during recovery, but then I stay the night by myself. I hope your surgery goes well!!!

Dealing with the restrictions was hard, especially since I had to stay two nights. I loaded my iPad with lots of episodes of a show I like, and big comfy headphones. Helped to block out noises and relax even if you can’t sleep. I brought an extension cord and a power bank to keep my devises charged. Your phone is so helpful for messaging with loved ones. The staff were extra nice and helpful as they know everyone is struggling with being alone. In the end though, you get more time to rest, and it goes quick.
