No Date: Waiting game

I am on the waiting list. Up to a 3 month wait, which is both not very long, and ages at the same time!
I have increasingly painful periods and heavy bleeding, as well as consistent high grade changes to my cervix.
The waiting is the worst... trying to save enough money to survive while I am off work (I already have 2 weeks paid leave available, hoping to accumulate enough for another week at least), trying to plan around Christmas, a wedding in a different state...

The waiting can be difficult - especially with other events looming. It is already past mid-September and Christmas is 3 months away. Depending on the timing, Christmas may have to be scaled back. When is the wedding? That may also have to be bagged, which I am sure you do not want to do. Another state makes it more problematic. Definitely talk to your doctor about travel. Here is an article:

I had a 2 1/2 month wait from diagnosis to surgery - 3 weeks to get an appointment with a gyn oncologist and then another 7 weeks until surgery. Fortunately for me, the first 6 weeks of this process occurred during our busy season at work, when I was working long hours and had much to occupy my mind!

Another thing that really helped me was to focus on preparing my apartment for recovery, as this was something I could actually control. I scrubbed, laundered and shopped with a vengeance! This paid off after surgery when I was recovering. I could sit back and relax. :-)
