Total Hysterectomy and not able to take hormones due to Factor V Leidens

Hi Everyone,

I joined last week but this is my first post. I was diagnosed with Complex Atypical Hyperplasia the end of June and am scheduled for a total hysterectomy this coming Monday 7/13/20. I'm nervous of course but especially concerned about not having ANY hormones after, and not being able to take any HRT due to being diagnosed with Factor V Leidens (which is a clotting disease).

Is anyone in the same boat and if so I would really appreciate hearing from you.

One question I do have is the following: did your doctor say s/he was taking your ovaries? If your doctor said a total hysterectomy that means uterus and cervix (which is the neck of the uterus). If your doctor is also taking ovaries it is called out as a separate surgery: an oophorectomy. Removal of both ovaries and tubes are called bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.
