Bowel Surgeon?
How many of you who have had bowel involvment has a colorectal surgeon there during surgery, or did your gyn do everything? When I had a laparascopic surgery 5 years ago, my doc at the time did not touch the adhesion between my uterus and bowel because there wasn't a colorectal guy in the OR with her. My current doc knows about the adhesions etc, but hasn't mentioned a team approach. I will ask at my pre-op tomorrow, but just wondering what all your experiences were.

Bowel Surgeon?
Hi Katy,
I haven't had my surgery yet but my gyn knows that my uterus was adhered to my bowels when I had my lapo done and she said that if it was alright with me that she would have a general surgeon in to do the bowel resection. Which I hadn't even thought about so I feel very comfortable with her doing that. She even went as far as asking me which surgeon I wanted her to ask to assist her.

Bowel Surgeon?
Katy,
I also have adhessions and when I had surgery in 97 my Gyn at the time did the bowel work (bowel was attached to abdominal wall and bowel sections were glued together. My gyn for this surgery said if he nicked the bowel a Gastro Doc would be called in to fix the problem. He said with out being able to reach out to the Gastro he would need to do a coloscopy. YUK.
Glad you are asking your doc. Let me know how you come out.
