Looking for advice and wondering about recovery time

I am 29 and have been struggling especially in the last couple of years with severe pain, bleeding and more. Had not heard of Adenomyosis until the doctor mentioned it today saying I have all the symptons. I have had two different Drs. come to the same conclusion (three different appts. to make the decision to for the surgery and a lot of praying) that I am down to one option after trying other various treatments that have not worked. On the way home from the doctors office to sign papers to do the hyst, I received a call saying there is a cancellation for two weeks from now and I will know for sure if I am booked in officially on Monday. Very nervous, but glad I will possibly not have to wait the 3-4mths I was told. Any advice for a Mom of three little ones?

Re: Adenomyosis, Age 28...?

I am 32 and had my hysterectomy 7 weeks ago due to endometriosis, fibroids and adenomyosis. I do not have kids and do did not want kids and my doctor said thats all he needed to hear. I can tell you that i wasnt sure my issues were bad enough to have the surgery but the way i feel now shows me they were. I feel like a new person. I couldn't have asked for anything better. If you are sure on not wanting kids there is no harm in talking to your doctor about a hysterectomy. You have to be your own adcocate so be sure to know your options! d

Re: Adenomyosis, Age 28...?

I have the appointment booked for two weeks from now for a hysterectomy. In a lot of pain right now and just struggling to get through this episode. We nearly lost our last baby and myself so the decision was made a short time after having her to not have anymore (made it final through a vasectomy) so for us we crossed that bridge a few years ago already. Just wondering about the recovery time and how you felt after.
