Frankly, I think this place is pretty special, so there might not be one out there that does quite the same thing. It's special because of the personality of "the woman behind the curtain" Kathy Kelley, who created hystersisters and spends her time (and money
) on all 8,000 of us, making sure it all reflects her sense of caring and support. I sometimes take it for granted, I've been trying to help out here for a year and a half (
) and it feels like an institution, I'm sure, to someone just arriving, but it's really just Kathy and people she's gathered together volunteering.
If it were an institution, then I'd be more sure that there are other boards as good. But how many Kathy's are there?
We'll send good thoughts and prayers to your friend, Marcia. There's some here who've had to deal with breast cancer, so she might make contact with them (email links in the profiles) and of course get any kind of support we can offer.
