Gas Problems?

This is somewhat an embarrising subject. But, have any of you during chemo experienced an unusual amount of gas. I mean ALOT of gas. The last two treatments, I've had very bad gas the week after.

Gas-X isn't working. I've taken alot of that, it is becoming most embarrising. I'm not able to make it to the bathroom sometimes, and has become a problem

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this... my BF is about to throw me out of our bedroom at night.

Gas Problems?

I ha ba constipation after my first chemo and gas along with it. For the remaining chemo I took a laxative tablet each day of chemo an for three days after. It took care of everything. I never took them at an other times.

And now it's continuing on about twice a month, I'm thinking my legacy from carboplatin. I would have gas, get constipated, and then finish off with diarrhea, which plagues me yet twice a month or so with gas... Didn't have that with taxol/carbo. This stuff works on healthy tissue as well as diseased and does some interesting things.

I wonder if all the gas we're producing is contributing to the greenhouse effect and they should study us like they study cows for "methane output." Just a laugh in an otherwise blah day. :bgrin

I guess collectively we could be responsible for blowing holes in the ozone layer.

Gas was one of my complaints pre-diagnosis. After surgery, I had gas pains,
but rarely could get rid of it w/o gas-x or similar meds. Now, I have the gas, but
it comes out far more than i'd like. Never causes pain anymore. I get worried
since it was a symptom!

But, I just got the "all clear" after chemo, a CT scan exam, etc. Dr said he's not
worried about the gas--most likely the chemo!

What fun!
