pelvic pressure

Hey Ladies!

I'm on Day 12 of post-op after a TAVH. I admit it. I moved around a lot this weekend. I didn't vacuum or lift heavy items but I did drive myself to get my hair cut and I went to a Derby party yesterday. I started spotting a bit for the first time Friday. That doesn't concern me as much as the pelvic pressure I'm feeling. It's like the external part of my vagina is swollen. It feels like something's falling out! Is this just a reaction to overdoing it a bit? I'm having a hard time knowing when to relax and when to keep going. My doctor says that it is easier to heal from a TAVH. What do you all think? Thanks!

pelvic pressure

Hi Angie!
I am 10 weeks post op and experience the same thing if I overdo it, especially standing or walking for a period of time. I also experience it if I have to strain at all to have a BM. I haven't called the DR about it because I just figure it's our bodies adjusting to the new "room" in there.

Sorry, I don't have an answer as to what it is, but thought I would let you know you are not alone.

You said it yourself! Yes, I think you are right, you are overdoing. Pelvic pressure is a common way for you body to react to overdoing. The part that is easier about the lavh is the lack of large incision issues. Otherwise, basically the work done inside is the same and the recovery time is, too, according to my MD!

Thanks for your words of support! I did go to the doctor today. At first she thought it was a bladder infection but it wasn't. Then she reminded me that I should continue to take my 600 mg of Ibuprofen four times a day to reduce inflamation. Hope it helps!
