Hormones and herbal tea

Hello Ladies,
It's been a long time since I've posted on this site. I am 18 months post op from a TAH/BSO. I remember the days when I never thought that I would make it this far. If it were not for this website, I probably would have lost my mind after my surgery.
I have a question. I have been on Premerin since the day after my surgery. I am experiencing a bout with insomnia and bought herbal tea (Nighty Night tea). has anyone ever tried this? Is it O.K. to use herbal tea with HRT? I'd appreciate all answers and alternatives. I'm about to go crazy with this insomnia.

Hormones and herbal tea

Cynthia, I would be interested in a answer as well. It would be wonderful if herbal teas would help. I don't like Tylenol PM and those kinds of drugs. Melatonin only worked for a very short time. Hope someone has some experience with teas.

Hormones and herbal tea

Gee, I've been drinking green tea (and I drink at least 3 cups a day) since right after surgery, I never heard anything bad about tea and HRT together.

Hormones and herbal tea

I'm 4 years post op and I drink herbal teas almost every night. I haven't noticed any changes as far as my hormones go. It may depend on what is exactly in the herbal tea. I do drink a cup of Sleepy Moments tea before bedtime. It helps to relax me.

If you have any doubts about what is in the tea perhaps you could give your a call and make sure it is okay.

Hormones and herbal tea

Hello again ladies,
I guess the reason I questioned herbal teas and hormones is because I had heard about certain herbs that shouldn't be taken if you're on hormones. Anyway last night I drank two cups of tea and I finally got some sleep. My neighbor who is a nurse practitioner recommended it. The brand name is Traditional Medicinals and the name of the tea is "Nighty Night Tea". I slept for four hours, woke up and went back to sleep for probably two more. This was the longest I've slept in about two weeks. I must admit that I bought some Benedryl as a back up plan. As long as the tea works, I'll keep drinking it. Thanks ladies for your responses.
