I have my appointment for secon opinion
Ok I'm going to an OBGYN Oncologist for my second opinion at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. My appiontment is this Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
I received a call from the first DR that did the biopsy and she doesnot want to do the surgery. She says I need to have a specialist do the surgery because I've a screen in my stomach from 2 hernia repairs I've had in the past.
I feel kinda numb and I'd like to cry but have not been able to. I try to pray and I don't know how or what to pray for. I've got a lot of wonderful people praying for me. Some one told me that when you go through a trial like this it is difficult to pray for yourself and that's when you need other believers to pray for you.
I recokon my prayer is if it is cancer they have caught it in time. If they have caught it in time and you have a hysterectomy are you considered cured? Or can cancer pop up someplace else. Oh I just want to get mad at somebody and scream and holler but like I said i'm numb.
Thanks for being here. Pam

Best Wishes
Your Dr. is quite right in referring you to a gynecological oncologist. These are the surgeons you want if there is any chance of cancer, as they know just what to look for, where to look, what to take for biopsy, etc. Wishing you the best for successful surgery. Ellen

I have my appointment for secon opinion
I wish you luck with your new dr's appointment and hope that your op goes well. I was told that by having a hyster and other 'parts' removed that the chances of the cancer, stage 1a, recurring were most unlikely. I hope this helps.

I felt like screaming A LOT just like you do
and I told my husband that I wanted him to go with me to a secluded area for that purpose! There are days I still want to, but once I knew what I had and what the treatment plan was, I felt more in control. I will be thinking of you!

I think you will feel better when you have a plan and no what you are facing. The waiting is the worst. I have times when I couldn't pray after my diagnosis and immediately after my dad died unexpectedly in 99. My thoughts just went round an round in an unfocused way. Having friends pray for me helped a lot. Also the Bible sais that the Holy Spirit prays in us when we don't know what to say so trust Him.

I am very happy that you are going to see an oncologist gynocologist. They are the experts and will set you on the right track.
Unfortunately, to answer your question, cancer can reoccur even if you have had a hysterectomy. I had ovarian cancer and my doc told me that the only good thing about ovarian cancer is that it does not spread to the bones or other areas. It can however recoccur in the abdominal cavity.
Gosh, those of you that know more that me on this subject, I hope i got that right.
Good luck and keep in touch
