urine tract problems

I had a intravenous urinology test todayoh what fun... my gyne rang me this afternoon (unheard of ) to say very sorry but the reason I am in so much ain: is because I have a blood clot against My urinary tract right by my kidney... this apparently happenened after my tah bso 8 weeks ago and they have just found out..

My gyne says that I have to go back for another op to put a shunt in my urinary tract to re-open it.... I could

has this happened to anyone else??? if so what is the surgery like for this I have to admit I am scared.

It sounds like you've developed a fistula -- a connection between the urinary tract and the vagina. You're in excellent company here: if you do a search on "fistula" you'll find a number of long threads with ladies who've had this problem and are at various stages of dealing with it. There's a wealth of information on this very topic here on the Road Less Travelled, and I'm sure one of these experienced and compassionate ladies will be along soon to help you out!

Well, since I can't edit my own post , I'm glad to see your other post on this subject...it clears up quite a bit.

What it sounds like is that a ureter was compressed by this large hematoma (OWWW!! ). They would then insert a "stent" to hold it open again...is this what you are referring to? I would still refer you to the fistula threads, as there is information from one or two members of the "Fistula Club" about this -- they've been through it!

Good luck to you, and let us know how it all goes, OK?
