Ladies, I can't thank you enough for the support and knowledge going into this and continually.
Surgery 5/7 was uneventful. I was discharged 5/9 in the morning. It was so much easier than I thought (and continues to be.) The anticipatation of diagnosis and what to do about it (fertility sparing surgery vs TAH) was much more stressful. My gun/onc called Monday and all but pelvic washings are back. All biopsies NEGATIVE. I'm so glad I don't have to worry about little cancer cells making their way into my uterus and reaking havoc. NO more of that nonsense.
Recovery is going well. Mostly on just Motrin. Have f/u appt on 5/20. Family and friends have been so supportive. Per MD, may only need three chemo treatments instead of six. More later...
Surgery and cancer is such a humbling experience. It makes you realize who is there for you.
Thank you all.

s Mary

I am so pleased that you were staged early and it sounds as though it was contained in the one ovary.
When you know for sure about further treatment, be sure and stop back for tips and encouragement.
In the meantime continue with your smooth surgical recovery.

So Glad all other biopsies are negative. Cancer is frightening even if it is in one ovary. Follow your gyne/onc's treatment plan. Good Luck & Happy Healing from your Hyst. I know you will do well.

Dear Mary,

Yay for catching this in such an early stage! Like Ellen said, three chemo treatments will just fly by! My third treatment will be Monday, so maybe we'll finish up at around the same time. :-)

You're right: An experience like this really does show you who is there for you. I only had one person run far away. Unfortunately, he was the guy I was dating. He was bad for me anyway, so . . . it's OK. Everyone else has rallied around. As you said, it's been very humbling. The kindness that people have shown me has really helped me through this. I'm so blessed. And so are you!
