6 weeks and new pain

Hey Ladies

I am 6 weeks post op today. I had a vertical incision, tah/bso. For the last couple of days I am having a lot of pain just below my naval to the left of my incision. When I cough it feels like something is ripping in there. I called the dr office today and my dr was not in. The nurse says theres really not anything in there except colon and bladder. She asked if i was going to the bathroom and I told her yes. I am supposed to go in the morning. I am really hurting pretty bad tonight but so far no fever. Anybody got any ideas about what this could be?

6 weeks and new pain

Dear Buffie,

I have no idea what it could be, but I would encourage you to keep calling your doctor, especially if the pain escalates. I got a small incision infection on one side of my navel, probably because I didn't blow-dry the steri-strips dry before I went and sat on a couch for four hours. I think the moisture caused the infection. An antibiotic cleared it up. But it sounds like you have something different, since your pain seems to be internal. Keep calling your doctor. s!

6 weeks and new pain

Hi Buffie...

After a hysterectomy sometimes it takes a while for your other organs to find a good place for themselves.

My daughter in law is an RN and she told me that she once watched a hysterectomy being done and that it was very interesting. They gently remove all the other organs and kinda put them off to the side. When finished they place everything back inside and everything has to find a new comfortable place for itself.

When sneezing or coughing hold a pillow on your stomach.

If the pain does not subside at all, I would also encourage you to keep calling your doctor.

Good LUck..

Rosalie

Buffie..

I'm sorry, I have not had any kind of pain that you are experiencing, but I just wanted to say that I agree to keep calling your Dr if the pain continues.

Good luck...

's and ers to you.
