Probably need to increase hormone dose

I had TAH/BSO on January 7, 2003. I have been on .05 Vivelle dot ever since. Work is stressful and we are short-staffed. However, I am tired and teary, and maybe I need to increase my dose or add some other HRT. I am 37 years old. My doctor said at my 4 week post-op visit that I may need to increase, and to come in and get the hormone levels tested as long as 48 hours had passed since I put on a new dot.

Any advice? I know this is not an easy answer, but I am clueless about this, and feeling pretty rotten!

Hi Kristine, Sorry you are feeling so rotten. I know when I get stressed I seem to be more teary eyed also lack of sleep makes me tired and cranky. You might want to have your hormones checked. Hang in there and hope you get to feeling better soon.

it does sound to me like you need more estrogen. check out other symptoms you might have at www.hormonejungle.com the pull down article too much estrogen/too little and see if that can help pinpoint it for you.

Probably need to increase hormone dose

Hi! I too felt the way you did on .05 vivelle dot. My doctor had my estradiol (estrogen level) checked and it was way too low. She upped my dosage to .075 and rechecked it in 3 weeks and I was doing much better. Definitely, get it checked! I'm much more "stable" emotion wise now and don't feel like I'm going to cry over everything. I was basically in full menopause is what my doctor said....not fun.. Good luck!
