Woo Hoo! Cyst is GONE!

Hi Ladies!

I just had to share the results of my doctor's visit yesterday. 6 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with ovarian remnant syndrome and I had a 6 cm cyst on a microscopic piece of ovary (a remnant). My dr. put me on bc pills to try to supress the remnant and make the cyst shrink. Well, when he did the ultrasound yesterday, it was COMPLETELY GONE! I am very happy about that, but also a little worried that it could come back. Today I switched back from the bc pills to estratest so that remnant (or any others, since there could be others) could decide to turn back on at any point and cause another cyst. I go back in 6 weeks again to make sure it hasn't come back. It seems strange that I'm not dancing around because the cyst is gone, I guess it's just because who knows when it might happen again. Maybe in 6 more weeks I'll do the happy dance!

Woo Hoo! Cyst is GONE!

Hi Ellen:

First glad you're cyst is gone!

Just curious... why did your change your med if it was working to control/eliminate the cyst? Were you having bad side effects from the bcps that made it attractive for you to switch back?

Woo Hoo! Cyst is GONE!

Ellen,
That is great news that the cyst is gone! I can understand your apprehension to do the happy at this point. Hopefully in six more weeks you will be doing the happy dance with no apprehensions!

Woo Hoo! Cyst is GONE!

Michelle,

The bcps he put me on are almost totally progesterone. I have actually done pretty well on them, considering. But I am tired all the time, and I mean ALL the time...on these pills, I am physically capable of sleeping for 12-14 hours a day. I am usually a person who gets by quite well with 7-8 hours. But not since I've been taking these. Before he switched me, I was taking Estratest for 2 months, after having switched to that from estradiol. The testosterone in the estratest was giving me my energy (and other things ) back. The first 2 weeks on the bcps were horrible with bad mood swings all the time and absolutely no patience whatsoever. I was really terrible to live with for a while! The last couple of weeks, the mood swings are less frequent, but still there and I didn't have them on the estratest. Since I technically have no ovaries (microscopic pieces not withstanding) I think I really need the estrogen.

Ellen

Ellen...

Sounds like switching meds is a great idea since you were not feeling well on the BCPs and you feel good on the estratest.

I'll bet that cyst was a fluke and you will continue to feel great! If not, you know what treatment has worked and knowing that is to your advantage.

BTW...about those other things. You go have fun, girl!
