Pain!Pain!!Pain!!!

Forgive me , but I am really bad pain right now...have been for a day..well last two days have been really so bad that I had to almost grab my cane because of the intensity. I am trying hard not to take any more ibruphen for it, as i can feel it working on my kidneys, and yet i do have two more refils on my perscription.
I come for advise as to what to do,as i had a unexpected hysterectomy about two years and four months ago. I had tumors fibroid , 30 lbs of them, but had been rushed to the hospital because of a needed second hernia (abdominal) repair surgery. The surgeon is in Yale now and the second dr who assisted is now so old that he says he does not remember if he took out my ovies or not, and he cannot find my records.
The incision wound keloid over and it is still not healed to this day. It oozed fluid and often blood. I asked for antibotics when i went to primary care dr yesterday, and he gave me kelflex . I reguested another type as it gives me secondary infections. He says i will not get it this time, as i have no womb and the secondary infections are a sign that the medicine is working well.
I do not believe his words as I am sure i will begin to itch, womb or no womb. And also he is insisting on a mamagram and blood tests. as he thinks i may have diabetis as i have an unhealable
wound. I have hot flashes even still, I recieved nothing but ibuphon perscription and hb pressure meds upon discharge.
Each doctor i go to seem wary and tell me to go back to the doctor who did that surgery...he is in another state,...they do not seem to comprehend that part.
How long am i to be in pain?

Reenie:

I am sorry to hear you are in pain and are not having better luck finding a doctor who can help you. Have you thought of seeing a doctor who specializes in infections? I live in a moderately small town and we have an infectious disease specialist who is often consulted by other doctors to treat non healing wounds.

I hope that you find someone soon who can help you get this infection cleared up. Really, testing you for diabetes is probably a good idea given the non healing wound and it is a usually well tolerated test.

Hang in there and here is a for ya.

About your reaction to Keflex - did you tell your doctor it makes you itch? That's different than a secondary infection. That could be a sign of an allergy. If that's the reaction you have to it I wouldn't take it but would check with the doctor first.

I'm sorry to hear about your multiple problems. It is difficult to find a doctor who will 'take you on' when you have so many problems. I know that can be very discouraging.

Hopefully one of the doctors you consult will make some sense.
