Where do I go next!

It seems like my pain is increasing. My lower back is killing me. I have a lot of gas and also having indigestion. I went to gastro the other day. She really feels the pains in my sides and back are from adhesions. I had a colonoscopy 2.5 years ago. She doesn't feel I need another one yet. She said that adhesions would not show on any tests that she would run. She recommended Benefiber for 3-4 weeks and see how I am doing. In the meantime, I just feel awful. I am just not sure what doctor to go see. My regular gyn who did the surgery is out of town until July. I made an appointment to see his partner. It is so weird but it feels like ovarian pain in both sides. I only have one ovary. The pain is centered where my ovary use to be. I feel something needs to be done soon. We're going on vacation June 14-20. I've go to go on that. My gyn had prescribed the birth control pill Alessee. I did okay the first month. When I went to the pharmacy the next month, they gave me generic. It made so moody that I stopped it. I hate that feeling of depression coming on. Now I am depressed because of the pain. My gyn originally said he didn't think it was endometriosis. I'm sorry to go on so long. I don't know where to turn. I hate to complain to my husband and family. I hate people in my office knowing also. Thanks for listening to me. I just want to:cry:

Where do I go next!

s and to you Dara!! I am dealing with much the same thing here and I really don't know where to turn either. I had been taking Ortho Tricyclen and was then switched to Ortho Tricyclen Lo and have had NO improvement at all. I, too, am having pain where my ovary was. Go figure! I am considering calling my gyn and asking her to switch me to a monophasic bc pill because during the second week I'm fine. The day I switch to that higher progesterone pill during the 3rd week....WHAM! Good luck and do keep us posted on what you find out!

I keep reading about people who have ovarian remnants - wonder if that could be you? I was trying to find the similarities in both of your posts. I would definitely go back to my gynecologist. He/She will know where to direct you. Good luck!

Where do I go next!

(((((Dara)))))) I'm so sorry you're dealing with all of these issues

Some of your problems seem to be hormonal and I would suggest that you go back to your doctor and let him/her know how the generic BCP's made you feel. Oftentimes, the formulation of the generic products are not quite the same as that of the name brand and could explain the difference in relief they bring. You might also want to post in The Hormone Jungle message board, where you'll be most likely to find the answers regarding Surgical Menopause and HRT issue. Just Click Here

Regarding the pains you're having, I'm sometimes having pains in my right lower abs, just where my right ovary is. Furthermore, it tends to be cyclical, and I was sure that it was my ovary acting up. In my case, it turns out to be caused by colonic spasms, which are often present in the case of IBS. I've since found out that the menstrual cycle sometimes is a trigger for IBS flareups

Where adhesions are concerned, please have a look in the Resources Forum "Road Less Traveled: Adhesions Resources ". Just Click Here

Sending lots of healing s your way and hoping that you feel better real soon
