Diet Coke,
I know you are scared, believe me I was too. They will probably give you medication to help you relax, and surgery will be over before you know it. Once they know what is really going on, you can proceed from there.

Platelets are what help your blood clot, it doesn't necessarily mean you have cancer. I think giving you platelets before surgery is a wise idea. No complications, right?

Hang in there - you will get through this - I did, and I'm the biggest chicken on the face of the planet. You will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow, and I'm sure more sisters will be along to add theirs as well.

I agree with moonflower

She is right on the money about low platlets not necessaraly meaning you have cancer. Low platlets can be caused by a variety of reasons. Of course we will pray for you. Try not to worry, I know easier said than done. Take care and after the surgery take care of your self and be a good princess. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take short walks.

Love and God bless

What helped me so much last week when I was having the allergic reaction to my first chemo treatment was the thought that God is bigger than any cancer I might have AND bigger than any chemo that I might be taking, so I might as well leave things in His hands and let Him take over from there. It worked. It always does.

I'll say a prayer for you tomorrow that no matter what the outcome, God will give you the strength you need to get through it.

I know how scared you are but the waiting is the worst. I never heard of low platelets associated with cancer. It is good that they will give you some to help with surgery. I am praying for you.

I am praying. Hang on in there. It may still not be cancer and that is what I am praying for now. May your surgery go well and your recovery be uneventful and may everything be benign. If you do get bad news, there is wonderful support here and every hope for the future, with many treatments both orthodox and complementary to keep you well for the rest of a long life.

I agree with what everyone else here has said. A low platelet count usually has to do with your clotting ability. A platelet count of 60,000 just means that you will bleed when you get cut. This is why they need to give you platelets. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with cancer. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and will be praying for you! I wish you didn't have to go through this!

I have to agree with everyone else, having low platelets doesn't mean you have cancer, and I pray along with everyone else that you don't. Please let us know when you feel up to it how you are doing after your visit in the castle.

's and ers to you.
