Belly still swelly?

Hello all, it's been awhile since I have posted. July 3 will be my 2 year mark since my TAH. My recovery has gone well, I have lost 27 pounds since the surgery and gotten down to a weight that I am happy at. I still have a slight swelling in my belly though. Does it EVER go away? I have tried excersising to no avail, that little "shelf" above my incision is still there. Cosmetic surgery is NOT an option for me. Is it still too early to expect that to be gone? Thanks in advance for any input.

Still Swelly Belly?

Oh, geez - - well, your post doesn't give me much hope, ha! I'm going to be 5 months post-op June 17 and still struggle with the swelly belly. If you are still doing this at 2 years, what does that say for the rest of us! Seriously, I would imagine it would be down as much as it's going to be after this length of time. My doctor explained that it's very difficult to get an abdomen that doesn't pooch at least a little after a TAH. You have to figure they've cut through muscle and tissue, etc - - deep to your core. All that has to heal together and just like any scar you get after a cut, it's probably not going to heal without some sort of a "bump". Hope it gets better!
