Continuing bladder woes

I guess I am posting this because I have no where else to whine. I am 3 months post op from a LAVH, bladder suspension and repairs and still am having bladder leakage. I had bad stress incontinence before surgery, that is now gone replaced with urge incontinence I did not have before. Granted the leakage I have now is not near as bad as before but after all the pain and stuff I would like to be better. I am on Detrol and my MD just keeps saying wait it will get better with time. I have really had no improvement in the past 6 weeks so I am becoming discouraged. The problem for me is I have been given a Graduate Assistantship at the U of A and will be working 20 hours a week plus taking a full load of graduate classes starting in Aug. I can just see my MD come Aug finally deciding to refer me out to a uro and to have to start the rounds of MD visits and tests right when I need to get to work. I really so badly want to be dry and be able to go padless at leats for a few years yet dread the MDs and tests again. Wouls love to hear from anyone that has struggled with the overactive bladder/urge incontinence and their tx and progress. Thanks for listening. I just so want to get on with my life...what I hoped this surgery would bring.

Continuing bladder woes

Hi there ((((Kelle)))) So sorry you're still having these problems, despite the repairs

I'm afraid I do not have any answers for you, since I'm also dealing with bladder issues: since 1 year after my hyst, I've been having increasing problems with urge incontinence and stress incontinence. I'm finally being referred to a uro, but it took all this time to get doctors to seriously consider this as a problem

I can understand how you want this issue resolved before you start on with the Assistantship and Graduate studies. Is there anyway you can get a referral to a Uro now, before you start on your hectic schedule? The uro might have a simple solution, that would not involve additional tests, treatments or surgery (that's kind of what I'm hoping for )

Sending lots of s your way. Please let us know how you're doing.

Kelle,
I'm sorry you're still having bladder woes. I've been lucky in that the only problem I have is frequency, hesitation and a few spasms. I agree with Dany, perhaps you could explain to your doctor that you would like a referral sooner rather than later.
